Starting our election campaign we, the candidates for the Presidency of Ukraine, are calling upon all our compatriots.
Election is the most crucial point in the state’s history and people’s life. This is a turning point sealing the people’s fate for the following 10 –15 years. Elections are not to be made a race in order to find the best way of deceiving people, making promises or soiling rival’s reputation. The above-mentioned disagrees with public morals and leads our country astray, making people «to buy a pig in a pocket.» Choice is not to rest on the lies otherwise it will always be followed by these lies.
Thus, we regard this campaign as honesty and responsibility test. We’ll work with our electorate adhering to the Ukraine’s Constitution and legislation, and also to the code of ethics.
We commit ourselves during the election:
• to provide only true biographical facts;
• to respect labour and to assist media representatives with the overall coverage of our activity as the candidates for the Presidency;
• to avoid unfair methods of election holding in any case;
• to exclude entirely the pressure upon journalists, observers, voters and abstain from involving the public authorities into activities alien to them;
• to carry on a fair and honest dialogue sticking to our programmes, propositions without speculating about social, ethnical, cultural and religious contradictions, etc.;
• to contribute to the conscious choice of citizens as much as possible on the basis of free and open competition of ideas and positions regarding the future country’s development.
We are calling upon all the race’s participants to keep hard to the Ukraine’s legislation and avoid any actions or inactivity, preventing people from making their personal conscious choice.
We realize that we’ll keep on living upon this election and despite the results we’ll have to give an account to people.
We demand to provide equal opportunities for all the candidates for the Presidency. Otherwise Ukrainian people will be deprived of real choice and their volition is sure to be misrepresented.
We warn that the encroachments on democratic election procedures and attempts to hamper fair and transparent election will be regarded as the encroachments on the constitutional right of Ukrainian citizens and the Ukrainian national interests.
We are convinced that under these very conditions the election campaign will contribute to the progress of our country.
We are confident that according to the election results Ukraine will rise to regain its spiritual wealth, to bring about the democratic, political and economic changes, which will lay the basis for the people’s well-being.
We expect this fall to be the real spring for Ukraine!
Let’s make a fair choice!
